David Gemmell for me is a bigger hero for me than any of the heroes he portrays in his wonderfully evocative heroic fantasy books. David Gemmell manages something that many authors completely fail at. He makes his every book believable and easy and eagerly read. I’m not saying he doesn’t have his off days or books, but even his “bad” books are well worth a read. Not that this is one of those books. Dark Moon is up there as one of my very favourite books by this author and in fact one of my favourites ever.
