Dark Need is book three in Lynn Viehl's Darkyn series. Although this is only the third book in the series there is no way you could read this one without having read the first two. The books in in this series do not work as standalone novels because the plot is far too complicated. I'm going to attempt to give some background for this review but whatever I write here could really not do justice to Lynn Viehl's Darkyn world. -The Darkyn- On the surface the darkyn may appear to be just like any other vampires.
