This is one of my favourite Dean Koontz books and I have read them all!! It's thrilling, exciting, grisly, yet has a wonderful romantic feel. It tells the story of a loner with a past who one night meets a mysterious woman in a bar whom he cannot forget. On his journey to uncover her past, his past is revealed and their two worlds combine in a chilling way. As with most Dean Koontz books the characters are well written, and complex. I have read a lot of Dean Koontz and this is one of my favourites and from time to time I go back and read it again, which I do with a few of the books I like, Lightning by Dean Koontz is another one. This book tells the story of Spencer Grant, a loner with only his dog for company. He has an obsession with a woman called Valerie and sits outside her house on a night. By doing this one night he rescues her from a secretive agency who break into her house. This story takes you on a cat and mouse journey with an agent called Roy Miro, who is an assassin who thinks that the people he has killed he is helping by doing so.
