... of the waste of human life involved. I found the whole thing a cynical exercise of making money from an internet concept. Northcutt has taken information free off the internet, collected it together and palmed it off as her own. She tries to comment that death is not funny, but still wrote the bloody book. Her cynicism seems to know no bounds as the part of the book that really raised my goat was near the end. I could just about agree with writing unfunny stories about generally dim people taking their own lives...more

Darwin is one of the greatest thinkers of all time. During his many years on the planet he was able to muse upon man’s existence and created a foundation that is known to us as the evolution theory. As well as being a great thinker Darwin was also known for being a good man. Therefore, I have to think that the idea of the Darwin Awards would leave him spinning in his grave. The Darwin Awards are an internet prize given out once a year by a community of users to a person who has taken themselves out of the gene pool in the most stupid way.
