This insight into the world of David Beckham is a well written book of his story so far in football and his love life, as well as the intensive abuse that he and his family receives. However, I was not impressed with the length of text in his book, compared with the huge amount of pointless photographs, like with him sitting in a Jacuzzi and kicking a ball around in training. One with his family would have been much better to look at to see who the important people in his life are. There is a very disappointing, less than 95 pages of script, and 79 pictures, one being of him sitting miserably on a wall looking glum, most really have no consequence at all!! ...  Read the complete review

A good book. It fills you with information about his life that you never knew before. But afetr reading the book my oppinioun has changed of him, I now feel that he is a man with so much to talk about and so little vocabulary in which to tell it. Are you telling me that he wrote this himself? or did Victoria, I think that neither did as the structure of the work is far beyond what we know he can do. An icon of our age or an over exposed footballer - you decide. If you can't wait to devour this expansive tome covering Mr Beckhams years to date you fall into the first category. As a fan of the man and player I purchased this lavishly illustrated book - as a tabloid reader it contained nothing I hadn't already read. Much of the content was public knowledge prior to publication and the rest soo reached the press. The book is well illustrated though you soon reach the opinion that the man in question is keen to reinforce his image as a new man and style leader and the choice of pictures reinforce this.
