Advantages: Cheap, Good insight , Interesting unknown points of his life

Disadvantages: pointless pictures, not much text

This insight into the world of David Beckham is a well written book of his story so far in football and his love life, as well as the intensive abuse that he and his family receives.

However, I was not impressed with the length of text in his book, compared with the huge amount of pointless photographs, like with him sitting in a Jacuzzi and kicking a ball around in training. One with his family would have been much better to look at to see who the important people in his life are. There is a very disappointing, less than 95 pages of script, and 79 pictures, one being of him sitting miserably on a wall looking glum, most really have no consequence at all!! Below I will list the names of all the chapters in his book to give a brief insight about the contents of his book.

Chapter 1 Football Daze

Chapter 2 There’s only one Man Untied

Chapter 3 My first team

Chapter 4 World Cup Troubles

Chapter 5 Winning ways

Chapter 6 Euro 2000

Chapter 7 Fame and fortune

Chapter 8 Captain of England

Chapter 9 The Future

One of the interesting facts in his book which caught my eye were the reason why he foolishly kicked out at Diego Simeone when playing for England against Argentina at St Ettiene in France. The reason he gave was that he was releasing the frustration of being left out of the first few games in the tournament due to the fact that the then manager Glenn Hoddle thought that he wasn’t focused enough on his game. I have to admit that what David says about him and the things than Glenn did, I don’t think that he was a very good England manager. One of the reasons for this is that he told David to go to a press conference just because he was left out of the side and he made all fairly major issues public, which is what David says doesn’t happen at Man United.

After his mistake in the World Cup, he faced a hu
ge amount of torment from fans all around the country for what he did and they still gave him abuse even when the team were beating Portugal 2-0 at Euro 2000!!! It really is unbelieveable how far people go to annoy him and that is why stuck his finger up at the England fans after that game, which ended in a disappointing 3-2 defeat. That infamous picture is now widely remembered by so many people. I am sure the abuse will cut down due to that great goal he scored against Greece which made sure England qualified for the World Cup.

If you are a fan of the great David Beckham, buy this book as it is only 5 pound from some big book stores, but don’t be surprised if you are a disappointed with the length of the book.
Even though I have given this book 4 stars, It was on a borderline decision of 3 and 4.

I quite fancy reading this & Victoria's autobiography. They are both very talented, it's shocking the amount of abuse they have to suffer.

Well, obviously, at the end of the day, it was a review of too alves, but I just don't think the lad put 200% into the review today. Things just didn't come off for him.
