Neither one thing nor t'other? Or Both? (Delusions of Grandma - Carrie Fisher)
Member Name: cyberstoat
Advantages: Very witty. Disadvantages: Lacks cohesiveness
This is really a very hard book to review, and the reason for that is that it has some intangible qualities that result in a conflict in my mind. Apart from her obvious qualities as an actress, small plastic doll, or pin up on my pre-pubescent wall, Carrie Fisher does have some skill as a writer. She is witty, to the point, and avoids the tendency to wallow in self-satisfaction at the fact that someone who is as famous as she is can sell books that contain little or no actual content simply on the strength of her name. She actually does write very well. Summary: |
