Advantages: One of the best books in the world
Disadvantages: It's a DARREN SHAN book meaning it's not possible to put down
-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------
I have just recently finished this book, I've been desprate to finish this one due to reading the first book in the series, what I'm saying is that this is the second book in the series. Like all Darren Shan Books you pick it up and your hands feel glued to the book as you constantly flip through the pages as quick as possible as you are gripped into this amazing story line.
I have read all of the first series which is about Darren Shan and vampires. I'm on the last book, that series followed one person and followed him entirely. these books in this series has confussed me a bit, I finished the first book and picked this book up expecting to carry on with the story... But it felt as if it was a different book altogether.
It started as a mistery for me with the lights that kernal saw. Well I was expecting a carry on from the first book but it came as a surprised to me. So I had to get my head around it not being a continue of the first book.
After a while something clicks... This is set before the first book, I'm surprised at reading a name called "Dervish Grady", he was in the first book, he was the uncle of the kid called grubbs in the first book.
However Dervish is very young in this book, when in the first he was pretty old. This book is in theory to describe where all the demons come from (proper term is demonata) So Darren Shan cleverly made up a totally diffent universe, a very iconic Demonic universe where time there is totally different, where magic runs freely and is easier to use, where strength is enitable
I don't know what else to say hmmmm... I'll pitch out more of the story line
Well it's about this person called Kernel Fleck who can see these so called lights, they follow him about. Eventually you find out what they are there for but we never find out why he can see them and no one else can. He is needed in the demonic universe, a demon has snatched his brother, and Kernel is devoted to get his so called brother back... but is his brother really his brother? READ this book now before the question eats you up!
Right I hope I have pursuaded you enough, if I have not then you are a demon and should be killed, This book is one of the best books on this world, and in my opinion if you ever get a chance to read a Darren Shan book grab that chance with 2 hands, and ignor the stupid warning sign at the back which says WARNING SERIOUSLY SCARY, ignor it I've watched films just as scary
Summary: A BRILL book
