Advantages: Variety

Disadvantages: Confusing

I spotted this book in a tiny book store in Tenerife nearly five years ago. The first story is about the making of a film about Natalie X and is made up of extracts of peoples lives and how they portray Natalie. The film is supposed to start with Natalie sitting in front of a mirror naked applying make up but there is a lot of confusion and the film doesn't get finished with the same actors.

It is hard to explain this book as you have to read it to understand it. It is a very good read and the variety of the stories makes it interesting and unique.

William Boyd seems to me to be a very good writer and I look forward to spotting more of his books in tiny shops whilst on holiday.

Oh, me again. Same offer to re-read and re-rate applies and all that. Um... can I offer you a piece of advice without being rude? Oh darn it, I'll try, I'm a mother, I nag. Sorry! It'd be nice to read one opinion that says a bit more, rather than several that say only a little, you know what I mean? Slow down a bit! Um... but you don't have to do what I say, or anything like that - I just think more people will read you that way. :)
