Aimed at hesitant readers from year 2-3 upwards Tuffy is a family cat who is only following his instincts. It's not His fault that his instincts make him do things that the family don't like, especially poor, soft little Ellie. Despite its simple nature, this book is actually quite funny; I think most children would get something out of it. I do think it would benefit from being read aloud; there are plenty of 'voices' to play with. I think it does a good job of being a funny, sarcastic story without bogging down itself with too much text, perfect for a tearaway who doesn't like to read so much.
