Advantages: Amazing and inspiring true story

Disadvantages: That not every story has such a happy ending

This was recommended reading for the counselling course I just completed....it *sounded* relatively uninspiring, and I was not about to *buy* a copy, however I borrowed one, and on the recommendation of those who had read it already, started reading.......
I couldn't put it down!
This is truly an inspiring and amazing book..... although it relates directly to my area of work and interest, it is a book which can and will be appreciated by anyone.
Dibbs presents as a child locked away in his own world....withdrawn and antisocial, unable to relate to anyone and classified as educationally subnormal....and then he enters therapy.....sounds cliched, doesn't it? But this is a true story, written from his casenotes and totally unforgettable...a story of a child learning to *be*.
I won't say any more about the book, because I'd like you to read it and discover it for yourself, but it's both disturbing and fascinating, and an incredible insight into the inner world of a very disturbed young boy written by the woman who helps him come out of it.

got it and read it on your advice! I don't like it as much as Dibs, but it's an interesting read!

No! Sounds interesting! Is it published as a book, or a paper?

Yes, I loved it too!. On the same lines, have you tried "The Piggle" by Winnicott?
