Dinosaurs love Underpants is a great fun book which I picked up for my boys. My eldest has informed me that he already knows the story as it has been the bed time story on cbeebies several times, so many will probably know the story already.

The cover of the book is red and has a picture of a dinosaur wearing a pair of pants and a caveman riding on his back. The Title is at the top in blue lettering. The back cover of the book is white and has a small picture showing another dinosaur flying wearing pants as well. There is also a small paragraph about the book as well.

The story starts by telling us that dinosaurs were wiped out way back in history and no one quite knows why or how but this book now solves the mystery. We are then taken back to the beginning when cavemen felt embarrassed walking around in the nude so someone dreamt up underpants. We are then shown the dinosaurs who spend all their time roaming around showing big scary teeth and the Tyrannosaurus rex is the scariest. When T-rex saw the caveman in their underpants he started to chase him and then roared that he did not want to eat him up he wanted his underpants.

The other dinosaurs soon started pinching the underpants as well and some would even wear them on their horns! Soon the cavemen found they did not have enough underpants to o around as the dinosaurs had stole most of them. Soon there were underpants flying around everywhere as the dinosaurs were fighting over them. Would the cavemen finally get their underpants back and would the mystery of the dinosaurs being wiped out finally be solved?


My boys love this book and find it very funny. The was it has been written is very cleaver and if you read it carefully you find that it does rhyme. The book is accompanied with lovely big bright pictures which help to tell the story and encourage my boys to use their imagination as they show the funny way the dinosaurs are wearing the underpants. I have found that they also help to keep my 3 year old interested in the book as well.

The book is only short and can be read in about 5 minutes but you can make the book last longer if you ask questions about what can be seen in the pictures. The writing is a very good size and so my 6 year old finds reading this book independently very easy.

This book is the follow on book to Aliens love underpants, we have not read this one but after my boys enjoyed this one so much I will definitely be looking out for it. This book has also won the Richard and Judy's Children' book award.

The book was written by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort and was published by Simon and Schuster. The retail price for the book is £5.99 but I picked up our copy for £4 in Tesco.

This is definitely a fun book for children of all ages to read.
