Unusually illustrated action packed toddler book (Dog's Day - Jane Cabrera)
Member Name: moo2moo
Advantages: Very descriptive text Disadvantages: Not very long but too difficult for a young child to read alone
Unusually for a toddler book this one is not illustrated in the traditional sense of the word, instead its painted in huge swirls, sweeps and swooshes of riotous colour. Theres very little detail in the pictures themselves but the textures of the paints leap off the page adding an extra special dimension to the tale. The artist clearly had lots and lots of fun and you'll have just as much fun reading it. Watch out for the cleverly hidden items which blend into the paint a little bit like a Magic Eye illustration. You might not notice them on your first or even second reading but suddenly you'll spot them and wonder how you missed them the first time. Summary: Perfect for inquisitive minds |
