I first became aware of this bizarrely named book in my early days as a substitute teacher, when in one particular class, where I was the frequent sub, the children always requested this book at story time. The children used to giggle and giggle, and knew the book off by heart, and nothing seemd to dampen their enthusiam for it. If you like children's books that are high on humour, interaction, rhyming and fun then this could be a book for you. Nick Sharratt's "Don't put the Finger in the Jelly Nelly!" is a graphical romp through some fantastic food and fantastical creatures, and is highly enjoyable to read. Judging from my children's reaction it is a good book to be read to as well!
