From Tabloid Rags to Riches (Don't You Know Who I Am? - Piers Morgan)
Member Name: Trishajs
Advantages: I couldn't put it down Disadvantages: None - it went back to charity to raise more money I didn't get this book when it was published, but on the day before a long train journey. I popped into the local charity shop for a book I could read en route and give into another charity shop at my destination and this was my selection- I am glad I did. It was a very interesting story on his life including his sacking from the editorship of the Daily Mirror to the time he became a judge on Britain' s Got Talent and America's Got Talent. The Daily Mirror is not my kind of paper and so I guess I was surprised by his writing - it showed he was more of a journalist than a tabloid headline pun writer. I am not someone who is interested in celebrities, but I felt this would be interesting to read, because of the way he had suddenly found himself in a world he had seemingly never been interested in. I enjoyed the book and I found a respect for the man, feeling I got to know a side of him we don't normally see. Summary: Learning about the Man - not the image |
