Double or Die is the third book in the very successful Young James Bond series. Its predecessors were Silverfin a good book which had a bit weird (okay extremely weird) storyline. Then came Blood Fever which was an exciting book filled with betrayal and excitement with various twists and turns. Fortunately most of the series follows the lead from this book and not the first book. After this comes Hurricane Gold an extremely exciting book and By Royal Command which is filled with love and betrayal.

In my opinion Double or Die is the best book in the series and is very finely written by Charlie Higson. In this review I will not contain any spoilers but give a few hints and mention what can be found at the back of the book. A letter which is filled with cryptic clues is sent to James from a professor who has mysteriously "retired." This book contains this brilliantly written letter packed with anagrams and lots of harder codes. Will James and Pritipal find out what this means too late?

In my opinion this is an excellent book with just the right amount for James Bond type of action with people trying to kill him and cleverly written clues making sense a day after they needed the answer. I would highly recommend this book to everyone six plus. Although this book was written mainly for kids I feel it could be read by adults but it is a bit more childish than proper James Bond.
