If you are a fan of Surrey CCC then you will love this account of the team's double-winning 2000 season. Every match is reported in great detail, with day-by-day comments from the players allowing the reader a fascinating insight into the dressing room. The revelations about the potential Championship-deciding match at Scarborough are particularly eye-opening, with Adam Hollioake not afraid to tell it exactly as he saw it! There are twenty-four pages of good-quality photographs, many of them action shots from the most important matches of the campaign, as well as some nice little touches, such as 'wagonwheel' run charts of significant innings and a few extracts from the official Surrey CCC scorebook. So far as I can see, just about everything is here - by the end of the book I was left with a complete picture of how my team triumphed in 2000. Perhaps most significantly of all, the author has the gift of making you feel that you were actually there every step of the way.
