a very substantial study of Fulci’s work; features a deep and complex analysis if some of Fulci’s films without becoming pretentious; surprisingly, for a book of this nature, the text is very readable in all but a couple of places. further study of the man himself, especially with regard to the effect his harsh family life and severe illness in later life, might have lead to even further insight into the films.

concise and complete; attractively produced with full-colour illustrations. could have done with padding out with more discussion in places — the lack of conclusion is most certainly a disadvantage.
