Semi wins a prize to visit Ecuador. She's always wanted to go, see all the wildlife, the animals, and experience her dream. It is finally going to happen. Until her plain crashes and she ends up on a deserted island, only to find that it isnt deserted, and mysterious things are happening, and herself, Arnold, and Miranda are in for a wild ride.
The story is fast paced, exciting and action packed. The world through Semi's eyes, is one of genuine passion, emotion and true fear, and uncertainty. She is only a teenager, but going what she goes through, the emotions that are captured are real, and believable.
Set on such a beautiful exotic location, the dark gruesome horrors that lie beneath the shaded trees is one to send a shiver down your spine. Be prepared to be excited and exhilirated with a new original storyline.
The characters are likeable and you really feel like you want to help them. It is a rollercoaster ride adventure, and the twists and turns that Ann Halam pulls out is one that could annoy, or advocate.
The ending is abit abrupt, and you really want to find out what happens next, but you will never know! because there is no sequel... what a shame, but the process and climax is well worth the read, even if the ending isn't completely satisfactory..
Whilst this is a teen book, anyone can get a short buzz from its exciting pages, and can be bought for less than £5 on the internet. I have read this 3 times, and it never fails to excite!
