I never really read much litterature from the fantasy genre, but when a friend of mine gave me "DragonLance Legends" and said "Read this" I thought OK, I'll give it a chance. Am I happy I did that - the world of Krynn is absolutely fantastic. Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis have conjured a universe that leaves one wishing one could be there. The tree town of Solace, the plains in the North, the elves in Qualinesti - I could go on. But it doesn't stop here; the characters are also absolutely fantastic - Raistlin Majere, the frail mage, his twin Caramon, their friends Tanis, Flint, Sturm and Kitiara. Oh and last but not least Tasslehoff Burrfoot - the adventure seeking kendar, who always messes things up - I love it. For anyone who might not have read any of the books in the series I can only say 1 thing - start reading them. From the tales of the Solamnic Knight Huma and Kaz the Minotaur all the way through to the newest tales of the world of Krynn. Definately recommendable

Did you know that the books are based in the world of a role play game - part of the Dungeons and Dragons set, initially belonging to TSR? You can play in the setting, which is quite good fun. There are a good number of other books set on that world - quality varies.

OK - thanx for the advice :) I'm fairly new at this and getting to know my way around - but damn do I think this site is a good idea.

A nice opinion, but a little more detail would be needed to make this "very useful".

:-)
