I wish that I’d read this book as a teenager. It would have become my bedside bible. DB has all the ingredients of a cult classic: a grisly murder, plenty of drugs, hackers, poltergeists, graphic sex and New Orleans. And in the middle of it all a surprisingly touching love story. Drawing Blood starts with Bobby McGee, an underground cartoonist stranded in a small Bible Belt town of Missing Mile, with his wife and two sons. When money and talent dry out McGee turns mental and hangs himself after bludgeoning his wife and youngest son to death, living Trevor his other son as a sole survivor.
