Advantages: Nice easy Read

Disadvantages: none

Dream a Little Dream is another one of Joan Jonker's Liverpool sagas which she is so good in writing.

Edie Dennison is a very nice girl and she settles down with Bob who also lived in the same street. Times were very hard and it was always difficult to make ends meet.

So once they were married Bob was very determined to make a success of his removal business. . Yes Bob does succeed with his business at a cost of his marriage. Edie and their older daughter things started to get out of control and upset Bob, so with his other two children he finds comfort in the kitchen and let themselves dream of better things.Robert does take them to Seaforth to show what his wife had left behind . Joan Jonker describes beautifully how Edie and Bob started out in Liverpool in a two up two down house.
It is a very warm light entertaining read and it is just nice to escape for a while in a book which is so entertaining and easy to read. Probably I would say if you like Catherine Cookson, Josephine Cox and similiar authors to those you would like Joan Jonker.

I have never come across Joan Jonker, I like Josephine Cox and Cookson though so will have a look in the library. Thank you for your recommendation.

The cover looks very old-fashioned. Nowadays no young woman would leave the house dressed like this.
