For the last six years, i have watched with my own eyes Girls Aloud become from reality tv pop group to a national phenomeom and by far the most successful and popular female group ever. They're better than the Spice Girls, because the songs relate to teenagers going through these stages, and these things, the songs are catchy and fun and stick in your head. Over the last six years Kimberely, Nadine, Nicola, Cheryl and Sarah have more or less single handely held the fight up for pop and are now more popular than Sugababes, The Saturdays, Pussycat Dolls (in the UK), Atomic Kitten, All Saints ever where.

They have produced hit after hit for six years, and they havent stopped working for one second. I watched them audition and to be far they are not the best singers out there, Nadine is very good but the others are quite average to be honest. Their dream was to become popstars, and they did. This is the story of five ordinary girls from different parts of the UK< and how single by single, month by month they gained fans, critical acclaim, confidence, stardom, fame and fortune. It's the dreams come true but with even more than they could ever have expected, its the dreams that glitter.

Now lets get my bias out of the way, i think Girls Aloud are the best female group ever and i think they are tied right with S Club as the pop act the UK has ever seen. Now i know Westlife, Blue, Mcfly, Take That and Sugababes are up there but Girls Aloud has produced song after song with orginality and a unique style that is only relatable to them and them only. They are so beyond and superior to any pop act right act now, that no one is even close - it's like they have tenure. I am biased, and i am very pleased to have seen them grow from day one. I became fan as you say the minute i heard Sound of the Underground and i watched the entire Popstars series as well, and i could see what was happening. If someone had said on that final night that in six years you would be the most popular female group in the UK, have had 19 top 10 ten singles, sold almost seven million records, had 6 platinum albums, 4 numbers, and sold out four arena tours and become stars indvidually in the UK and rich beyond their wildest dreams i dont think anyone would have believed it. So their story is quite good, and they tell it only after 5 and a bit years, if they did this the second year i wouldn't buy it because their is not much of a story - they have been contraversal and out there with Cheryls punching at the start, to Nadines Metcalfe relationship, to Sarah's party lifestyle to Nicolas struggle with paleness, Kim's Cocaine stint etc.

When i bought this, i thought was overally priced but put it this way, even if it cost double that i would still have bought it. The book is very classy the glitter makes the book posh, it's very and immaculate and i like it alot. The cover art is just stunning i'm sure you'll agree. It's not really a book. It's like a interview transcript. Where it's obvious a ghost writer has been hired to write the book, and the ghost writer has asked each of them separetely about lots of situtations and recorded their responses and then edited it to give the book flow etc

It's a good book, abit much at 200+ pages, i havent got all the way through it yet but it is something i would recommend particularly to someone who doesnt like the group, and i know they are known as these rift makers, but they manage to get an excuse and defend themselves for everything. It's got a huge type face so you should be to get through it quite good. A good book, that i enjoyed reading about a group i like. I wouldnt touch a book by Blue, Westlife, Sugababes or Take That even they are as popular

I would recommend this book to the casual reader, their fans and their haters because you see they're human, and you see the decisions good and bad they have made career wise and in their lives. This book is fascinating cover to cover, i am a obessive and page after page i said i already all know all this! but it's a good book, maybe wait untill it's reduced!?
