Drowning world.
==========
I decided to read this after reading a review written here.
And yes this is a very good read, not that I would read it again but it was time well spent.
You are taken on an adventure on the alien world of Fluva. A planet where it is virtually always constantly raining. Here the have 50 words for rain!
You are taken through the watery world in the company of three unlikely companions.
One is a warrior native to the planet, one an outsider despised by the warrior caste and the other is the human they are sent to rescue from the deep watery forests, where he has crashed.
Along the way they will become friends, fight alien invaders and battle the flora and fauna for their very lives.
The descriptive talent here of Mr Foster are really very good and often the reader is left with a creeping dread of the horrible creature or plant that he has dreamed up.
The constant rain and watery peril the companions find themselves in is also extremely well written.
I would read another one of his books but would take my time picking the right one. This was a stand alone book but was clearly part of a series and some references to other themes and planets are lost if you have not read others in the series, well they where on me.
Recommended to read on the beach or on the plane, nothing too heavy and can be picked up and put down quite easily.
Summary: Enjoyable if not forgettable.
