Advantages: good for family who knows someone with cancer

Disadvantages: you can fall asleep at times

I am really surprised by the cover shown, it is not the same cover as the one I have right in front of me, and I think that cover represents this book a lot better than the one I have which just has a love heart in the middle, which is plain stupid as I'm pretty sure that hearts has nothing to do with this book.

This book is written by Jordan Sonnenblick, he has only written 3 novels, which don't look that appealing nor does the story lines, though this one didn't either. I really don't know how to rate this, I'd say it's not the sort of book I'd go for, but it came in a pack of "good books" so I thought I'd give it a go. This book isn't so appealing; you'd much prefer to read another book. Anyway I got bored with it but forced to read on however there wasn't much in it, and if I re-wrote it I'll only have to use 1 chapter long, and that'd be a lot better than this one.

the story-line is about one boy's struggle to battle with cancer, however it's put over from his brother's point-of view, basically to show you how the people around them actually feel, and how hard it is to carry on with their own life's. His brother struggles to find time to pay attention in class, to find out about whom has a crush on him, and also have the time to play drums. Then something really bad happens and he risks doing something he's always dreamed of doing to save his brothers life.

I don't think I've given too much away with that short paragraph. I think that this would be more beneficial for people who have Cancer or their family and friends as this is sort of like a guide to them to help them out somehow. But this isn't the right book for me, I think it was due to it being an 8-12 year olds book, which seems quite weird as the more I read of 8-12 year old books, the more I dislike them, such as my recent review on "Beast" which I would say that Beast and this book has not many comparisons, obviously it has the story-line, but the techniques involved in both of them wants me to drop off to sleep, and at times I didn't really feel like reading it and I'd leave to the last minute. I would say I enjoyed the story-line and that's it. If it was made in to a film you'd be stuck to your seat as you'd have to glue yourself to the seat to make you watch it, but then again that doesn't stop you from falling asleep! I cannot see a director making this into a film, it's too boring and if they ever think of doing so they'd have to be drunk, literally and when they come across it the next morning they'd be annoyed that they even thought about it. I'm glad it will not become a film!

I do recommend this book to a person who knows someone who has cancer and they are struggling to get on with their life's!

I hope I have helped you out with this book, and I am really looking forward for my Birthday present. I have been sent something through the post but the full Postage and Packaging wasn't paid, so my dad's going up to the post office Monday to get it, I wonder if you have sent me my birthday present? Hmmmmm...
