Advantages: Exellent piece of literature

Disadvantages: You won't be able to put it down

This is an epic tale that is set on the desert planet Arrakis, the focus for a complex political and military struggle with galaxy-wide repercussions it about the control of Arrakis, or Dune. It is a story about Duke Atreides and his family who move there, and this is where they fall into a trap set by their rival.

Dune has to be one of the best science fiction books I’ve ever read. For those who have never read or heard of the story, it can be a little complicated when you first start. But after reading it a while you soon get into the swing, the plot has great attention to detail, with realistic and interesting characters. Which are all combine to make this book only more believable, and you will find yourself rushing through it to get to the end to see what happens.

The book is a journey that will take you through deception, betrayal, revenge and finally victory. By the time you get to the final page, you'll empathise with every struggle they've had to overcome.

Though the story is good don’t spoil it by watching the film. It doesn’t give justice to the book; the characters are weak and the visual effect although good for the time are not of high-quality.

Sounds like it might be worth a read. A bit more info would be nice.
