This wonderful man changed my life!
If I could have lived anybody's life other than my own then I would of liked to live Gerald Durrells.

I was 'forced' to read My Family & Other Animals at school during English classes, and thank God I was, or I wouldn't of have had hours and hours of pleasure.
I've read every book he's ever written and I feel that I know his family better than I know my own!
I've followed his life through his books every step of the way, all the way from his childhood in Corfu to his later adult years in Jersey where he founded the Jersey Wildlife Trust.
The way he described Corfu in the Late '30's to early 40's was just magical, I don't think I will ever vist this Greek island because i know what it is like now, and I'd rather keep in in my mind the way he described it.

Gerald Durrell writes about his main loves (animals and food) in a way that is hilarious, but he also give you a natural history lesson in such a way that you can't waiy for more - teachers, take note!

If you have never read this author, then shame on you, start off with My Family and Other Animals, belive me, you will be begging for more.
