"Eagle Strike", the fourth in Horowitz's Alex Rider series, is, to me, the best yet. The book starts with Alex Rider, the ordinary schoolboy, relaxing on a French beach with his friend. Nothing could go wrong ... or so it would seem, until an attack on his friend's family provoke him to investigate. However, MI6 don't want to know this time, so Alex goes it alone. He is plunged into a world of violence an mystery, involving multi-million pound celebrity Damian Cray and the old enemy who killed Alex's uncle in "Stormbreaker", the notorious Yassen Gregorovich. This book is absolutely captivating, and this was shown when it became the Number 1 ... Read the complete review

Eagle Strike is the fourth book in the excellent Alex Rider series written by the brilliant children`s writer Anthony Horowitz. I think Eagle Strike is one of the best books in the series which is a fantastic achievement. Alex Rider is the main character in this book like the rest of the series. He is a reluctant teenage spy for MI6. The book starts off with him relaxing on the beach in France with his friends Sabina Pleasure. When suddenly he sees Yassen Gregorovich, the Russian assassin who killed his uncle. Alex investigates and finds out Yassen is being employed by Damien Cray the man who can do nothing wrong. He then goes out around Europe to find ... Read the complete review

This is a review on the book Point Blanc, but I have put it into the wrong section and can't figure out to remove it and put it where it should be. Any help would be appraciated. This is an audio book consisting of 5 CD?s and the approx running time is 5 hours 44 minutes. The 5 CD?s are enclosed in one box, making it very handy to carry in the car. The CD?s were bought in WH Smith on an offer for Buy 3 for 2, so I am not sure of the exact price, the CD?s can still be bought at WH Smith for £11.96 or from Amazon for £10.49 On long journeys in the car this is essential to keep the children quiet and to stop them fighting. As the punishment ... Read the complete review

If you've read other books by Anthony Horowitz, you will know there is a noticeable difference between them and the Alex Rider books. The hilarious humour that marks the 'Diamond Brothers' series and 'Granny' is replaced by a serious and hard, action packed plot. No more puns in every other line, but action and suspense round every corner. Alex Rider, a mini James bond character is a mere 14 year old, skilled with martial arts, walking the tight rope, driving any vehicle over earth, sea and sky, and speaking an impressive assortment of languages: the golden hero. Trouble is, he's a reluctant one, too. Forced into the service of MI6 after the ... Read the complete review
