Advantages: A fantastic book and nice and long

Disadvantages: It's so good you'll just want to keep re-reading it

Eclipse is the third in the twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. Stephenie Meyer was born on the 24th of December 1973, in Hartford, Connecticut. Twilight is a teenage vampire book but is also a lot about love. It was first published in 2007 and has since then become extremely popular.

The story is based around Isabella or "Bella" Swan who is living with her father in Forks, Washington and her vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen who lives with his vampire family. In the previous book Edward left Bella for her own saftey because he thought that she was in danger around him but in the end she saved his life and bought him back. However whilst Edward was away bella became best friends with Jacob Black, a ware-wolf. Ware-wolves and Vampires are natural enemies so Edward and Jacob hate each other.

Eclipse begins with the revelation that Seattle, the nearby town to where bella & Edward live is having a lot of unsolved murders lately. These are the murders of new-born vampires. As well as this to worry about Bella & Edward have to sort out which colleges they are going to go to next year and Bella is feeling very unhappy about being stuck in the middle of Edward & Jacob fighting, she wants them both in her life. Plus Victoria, a vampire who is hunting and wants to kill Bella is back in town.

Edward eventually decides that it is for the best if he lets Bella visit Jacob because it will make her happy and she is safe from the vampire Victoria there. However one day while Bella & Jacob are talking Jacob tells her he is in love with her and forcebly kisses her. She punches him & Edward tells him that if he kisses Bella again without her permission he will break his jaw.

Bella then tries to get Edward to sleep with her before turning her into a vampire. Edward explains that he can't because he might not be able to control his desire for her blood and kill her. However he is willing to try if Bella will marry him first, she says she will.

When Jacob finds out that Edward & Bella are getting married he threatens to kill himself. Bella begs him not to but he says he only won't if she asks him to kiss her, so she does and she realises that she is in love with him as well as Edward.

Bella decides that she loves edward a lot more and cannot live without him so she tells Jacob she wants Edward not him. The ware-wolves and the Vampires wrk together to kill Victoria and the new-born vampire army she has created.

This book was all about being torn between two loves whilst under a lot of pressure and shows that true love will come through in the end.

This book is incredibly captivating, once I picked it up I just couldn't put it down until it was finished. Despite the book being about vampires it is completely believable and realistic because of the great way Stephenie Meyer rights. The lure of finding out what happens is strong enough to make you read this book in one sitting even though it is 629 pages long.
I think this is a fantastic book and I highly recommend it to everybody as well as the other books in the series.
