Advantages: Carries on well, more exciting

Disadvantages: None

This book, entitled Eclipse, carries on from the two previous novels called Twilight and New Moon, it retains everything that made the original books in the series successful, and is a great read.

The book carries on with the same plot line as the one that New Moon had, the evil vampire Victoria is attempting to kill Bella Swan, a normal teenage girl. She is trying to do this because of the fact that Edward Cullen, the good vampire that has attracted a wide fan base of female fans, killed her lover in the original story, Twilight. Bella must do everything that is within her power to survive, and Edward must do everything that he can in order to stop her from dying. The main plot twist is a result of Jacob and his warewolf clan, who play just a large a role in the book as they did in the previous one.

The book itself is highly exciting, and is far more to the point than that of the previous two. There are no more pointless chapters where many small things happen, that are insignificant, like for example a chapter that is spent for the whole time by Bella and Edward talking about school. The most exciting point of the book by far though is the fact that within this book the relationship that exists between Edward and Bella is put under much scrutiny, mainly again as a result of interference from Jacob and his passion for Bella.

I have been very pleased with the outcome of this book, and the general plot throughout, it is an excellent read that does not stop to amaze. As an avid male fan of the series (something highly unusual, generally fans are female), I would certainly recommend that any teenager or young adult reads this book if they have already read the first two, but if they have not, then they should first read the first two, and then they should read this one, I am giving it a healthy five stars, as it really is a great novel, and possibly my favourite of the series so far.
