Eldest. The sequel to Eragon by Christopher Paolini. I have mixed opinions on the book but on the whole, i enjoyed it a lot. Eragon starts off the story in this, the inheritance trilogy. It follows the events that occur to a farm boy of 17 when he finds a dragon egg and becomes the first of the legendary dragon riders in centuries. With his new found abilities in magic and strength, he chooses to find the varden, a rebel society opposed to the evil king Galbatorix, in order to help them fight against the empire that killed his uncle. Eldest is the second book in the inheritance trilogy and the sequel to Eragon, with the third book titled Brisingr set for an autumn 2008 release, around October. I was incredibly excited about seeing the film and was so disappointed by it as it was nothing like the book. It was with a restrained excitement then that I started the second book in the series "Eldest" but I wasn't to be disappointed a second time. Eldest follows Eragon and Saphira in the build up to another battle between the Varden and the Empire. There is a large section of the book where these two principle characters go to Ellesme'ra, the home of the elves, to complete their training. The book also gives a lot more focus to Roran, Eragon's ...
