There are dozens and dozens of books available that talk about horror films. As a fan of the genre, I think this is mostly a good thing. A lot of the books are really bad - either trying to cover too much material in one go, without anything getting the coverage it deserves, or being tedious fan boy nonsense focusing primarily on movies made in the last 20 years or so. Or books can go the other way, being too specialised. There are books available about fairly obscure cult directors like Pete Walker or Ruggero Deodato that look like they're pretty good, but I'm not interested enough in the directors in question to want to buy a whole book about them. ...
