Dear community, I would like to write down my opinion about a book that I have been using for quite a long time now and still I find it very useful as an exercise and reference book: **** English Grammar In Use - Raymond Murphy **** I bought this book in Germany about one year ao and I was surprised by the masses of exercises in this book. You don´t necessarily have to work through the book from the beginning til the end as all the exercises are suitable for intermediate learners. I'll let you in on a little secret. It's a myth that all or even most EFL or ESL teachers love grammar. A lot of them don't even understand most of it when they first begin teaching. As someone said to me when I was starting out, "The trick is to stay one exercise ahead of the students." Now decent lesson planning does take a bit more preparation than that, but I regularly "learn" grammar rules just a day or two before I teach them for the first time.
