Silent Mercy - Linda Fairstein

Premium Review It's a mercy I finished reading it. (974 words)
by QueenElf - written on 29/11/11 (Very useful, 38 readings)
Rating:

crime writers I discovered the Alex Cooper series recently and hoped I d found another women detective with a big heart and plenty of courage. I did find this in Linda Fairstein s character, but I don t think she s going to make the grade for me. However, maybe I need to read some more. This particular book has all the ingredients for a smash hit so why do I hesitate? As more women make the grade to star in their own series I am perhaps too inclined to compare them with other favorite characters. There are so many good authors with their female leads that I really need to start at the series beginning. But this came up among the new thriller books and it did look good ...

Death Dance - Linda Fairstein

Premium Review You're dancing with death you know... (577 words)
by katyj10 - written on 14/02/10 (Very useful, 54 readings)
Rating:

Not my usual sort of novel so I don t have a lot that I can compare this to in past reads, but the 2006 Linda Fairstein Death Dance had me gripped from beginning to end in a bid to guess whodunnit. Set in NY City* Set in New York (one of my favourite places in the whole world!) the novel is all about the world of theatre and dance and tracks the untimely end of prima ballerina Natalya Galinova who disappears mid-performance from the Metropolitan Opera House. Meet Alex* We follow Assistant DA Alexandra Cooper (Alex) who finds the corpse and begins to follow all the possible leads in the complicated theatre elite, with her colleagues and buddies Mike Chapman and the ...

Final Jeopardy - Linda Fairstein

Premium Review Final Jeopardy - Linda Fairstein: A thrilling debut novel (331 words)
by Clayeree - written on 06/09/09 (Very useful, 43 readings)
Rating:

This debut novel from Linda Fairstein is a gripping story about the investigations of an assistant District Attorney named Alexandra Cooper in New York City. Fairstein herself was the head of Manhattan s Sex Crimes Prosecution Unit so in this book she is writing about what she knows best which means that this is probably a fairly accurate portrayal of life in a District Attorney s office albeit exaggerated in order to make a more exciting novel. The story begins when Isabella Lascar, a Hollywood actress and friend of Alex s, is found dead at the wheel of a car rented in Alex s name, at Alex s weekend home in Martha s Vineyard. This means that Alex is forced to confront ...
