Advantages: More Pratchett

Disadvantages: Yet more damn Pratchett

Pratchett's witches, first seen in Wyrd Sisters, make an unwelcome return. This time they're dealing with a royal wedding and some other tedious stuff, involving Elves from another dimension or something (if I remember correctly).
I don't know why, but I really hate those damn witches. Pratchett seems to do far too much moralising through the mouthpiece of Granny Weatherwax, and after a while it really begins to grate. Perhaps it's my natural aversion to miserable old women, but I wish he'd kill these infernal characters off!!
The book itself is what you'll be expecting by now. Slow start, meandering prose, and a fast paced ending that is somehoow unsatisfying. I feel that he started to lose his touch when he began to recycle his old charcters in this way, and it was also around this time when Pratchett's jokes also became more and more tired. Can you feel the bad vibes yet?
