I've been a fan of gangster autobiographies for as long as I can remember, but they tend to be very hit or miss. The likes of the Krays, Frankie Fraiser, Lenny McClean and Roy Shaw may well have the sort of worldwide reputation that backs up their claims, but for every one of those there seem to be a dozen wannabe gangsters publishing their own puffed up claims to fame. Bernard O'Mahoney was a doorman who socialized with a bunch of drug dealers and low level gangsters who ended up dead after a botched drug deal.
