The European Phrase Book I have for my travels on the continent is published by Eyewitness Travel Guides and is a handy companion for those times when English just doesn't cut it. At approximately 10 x 15 cm the book is slightly larger than the Lonely Planet equivalent but is still easily accommodated in all but the smallest handbags. It is just on 400 pages long and covers 14 languages, going as far north as Scandinavia, south to Spain, and east to Hungary and the Czech Republic (see end of review for a full list of languages).
