I purchased my first Janet Evanovich novels at Safeway out of a bargain bucket, and I bought One for the Money, Two for the Dough and Three to get Deadly expecting that I would read them and that would be it. How wrong I was - I am currently reading a between the numbers novel called Plum Lucky and have Finger Licking Fifteen waiting in the wings (and have read everything in between including the Alex Barnaby series).

These books have had me laughing out loud in public places - I had to leave for fear of creating a disturbance!

The main series of books is about a female bounty hunter called Stephanie Plum of Italian-Hungarian descent, she is teamed with her trusty sidekick called Lula a plus size women with a passion for lycra and spandex. They generally have several skips (no shows to court) to capture with a main story running also.

Through the stories get shot at, covered in rubbish and goo, have hair disasters, find severed feet in the fridge and blow up lots of cars along the way. Stephanie is not a very good bounty hunter and although having been shown the ropes by Ranger (Yummmmmmm) - she mainly just stumbles through it and gets lucky. She just wants to avoid working at the button factory - her mother wants her to work there.

The stories move along at quite a pace and I can generally finish one in a few days mainly because I can't put it down. The characters are well developed and if you follow the series you really get to know them, that being said you could read one and not read any of the others - but my guess is that you'll come back for more.

Summary: Highly recommended
