As someone who'd grown up being a casual fan of the band, without really knowing too much about them other than them being 'that great band who's guitarist went missing', this was a compelling read that provided a comprehensive biography of the band; from starting out as a group of bored teenagers playing covers of the Clash in the front room, to becoming critically acclaimed and award-winning stars of British 1990s rock. I have nicknamed this book as The Bible for me being a very big Manics fan. But for those who know nothing about the rock band or just might not like them will be highly entertained and pleasantly surprised. The book is basically about how the four, yes i repeat four members have been friends from childhood. It gives great detail about the lads personalities and trails and tribulations that it took to get the band going. For mad manics fans, like me, pointless but interesting facts about the band will stick in your mind.
