Advantages: A different view on our behaviour and of the future of humankind

Disadvantages: The sequal was not so great

Exodus is a really special find. The book talks about the nature of humans and our nialhistic behaviour. Basically, it shows us - the generation that is causing the problem - that we will inevitably force the destruction of our future grandchildren and so on. This book is very interesting because we always think of the future as moving forward, and actually, in Julie Bertagna's view, humans will regress and be forced to live at sea, if at all. Mara, the main character in the book, is forced to leave her island and in search of any remaining land on Earth. It's a very epic tale. Mara is soon confronted with the knowledge that her arrival has been foreseen and she is the one to save them all from the ever growing seas. What i like about this book most is that you can interpret the meaning of it yourself. And in my view, this book is a warning for us all.

Summary: Mara is a normal young girl living in the future of our wasted planet. It could happen to us all.
