This isn't for kids to do by themselves, unless they are at least 9 I would imagine, but younger children will love cooking with their mum or dad. I would think any girls from 3 to 11 would love this (and as a much older girl I like it too!). It definitely is very pink and glittery though so not for boys! The only drawback I can see is that some of the recipes aren't very original (such ...more

Crowned Review Fairy Cooking - Rebecca Gilpin: Fairy easy cooking (749 words)

Rating:

Fairy Cooking With a few family birthdays on the horizon, Little Miss, naturally wanted to do her bit for the tea parties, so knowing how she enjoys cooking, this seemed an appropriate starting point for the occasions. The book itself is produced by usborne, so having bought Usborne books before, I knew that it would be good value and that the “makes” would be child appropriate. Naturally, being on an almost permanent pink fest, the front cover was instantly appealing to Little Miss- what more could a little lady want…this is a pink book featuring cakes and fairies! The book itself has the instructions for 18 makes- Spangly Heart ...  Read the complete review

A few weeks ago at a local table top sale I spotted a seller with a pile of Usborne books for sale. The books were priced at 20p each! Not one to turn away from a bargain I bought most of the books. One of the books was the Usborne book of fairy cooking. As the mother of 2 boys I had thought I would be giving this pink and sparkly covered book to a friend for her young daughter. However when my 5-year-old son looked inside at the recipes on offer he asked if we could try and make some of them! The book is definitely designed for girls, which is a shame, as the recipes will appeal to both genders. The cover shows a selection of cakes and biscuits surrounded by ...  Read the complete review

If your little one is starting to take an interest in cooking and baking then I would thoroughly recommend the Usborne Fairy Cooking Book. All the recipes are fairy themed and also very pink which my little girl loves being heavily into both pink and fairies! Starting with the front cover, this is very attractive (and pink) and gives a very good indication of the sort of things you are likely to be able to make. There are also lots of fairies dancing over the cover on a pink background of glittering stars. When my daughter first saw this she was very excited without even looking inside! Inside you discover there are sixteen different recipes for ...  Read the complete review

This lovely book contains 16 recipes for children and adults to do together. These range from a variety of desserts such as cookies, biscuits, mousse, muffins and cakes, to a couple of savoury options which include shaped sandwiches and cheese scones, to sweets such as fudge and marzipan toadstools. The book is well laid out with a double page for each recipe. There is a list of ingredients, a photo of the finished product and then a series of simple steps to complete the recipe.
