Premium Review False Impression - Jeffrey Archer: Sometimes first impression is false! (1016 words)

Rating:

The first novel featuring the tragedy of September 11th 2001 was going to come along sooner or later and I am sure that over the coming years there will be many more to follow, but Archer took on the task which had to be handled with a degree of sensitivity. The Story The book opens with an English Aristocrat, Lady Victoria Wentworth, being murdered on the night before the collapse of the Twin Towers, it then cuts to New York on the morning of 9/11 where Anna Petrescue is preparing for her morning jog around Central Park, prior to an important meeting at her work. This meeting did not go according to her plan, as she was sacked and is in the ...  Read the complete review

Great decriptions of Venice and good lead character Slow moving storyline lacked a spark to ignite it.

Interesting plot, well-written, will make you want to keep reading Over-long, cowardly ending, not terribly original

Pacy thriller, courtroom sections well written Adds too many silly thrills, one character is unbelievable

A clever story that spans over nearly a decade in it's entirety... Very bleak reading and not the nicest of stories...

Funny, deadpan writing that portrays a world of darkness and intrigue Not everybody may like Kurkov's style
