Before we begin, it is only fair to tell you that I am hugely biased in favour of Mr Kundera. I think he is one of the most beautiful writers that ever put pen to paper. And not only that, one of the most intelligent and darkly funny, too. But this bias probably works in your favour – because it means I am hard on him when he doesn’t live up to my expectations.
