I remember reading this book a while ago. It's over 15 yrs since it came out, but it's just as relevant now as it was then. Is the obesity problem in USA down to clever marketing by the fast food chains? Well from the book the answer seems to be yes. Not only are big multi- national corporations involved here, but there's also to a large extent political propaganda being enforced into the nations conscience to promote and support the multi nationals right down through to the Mc Donalds and KFC's of this world. America is in the grip of a major obesity crisis and if we are not careful we will end up the same way. We all know the role of personal responsibility in maintaining a healthy weight, dont eat more calories than you burn seems to be an simple message but one that so many have not taken on board.
