Ellie - Lesley Pearse

Premium Review A must read! (373 words)
by renniechew - written on 30/07/09 (Very useful, 74 readings)
Rating:

I love all of Lesley Pearse s books, so after reading her book Ellie it came to no surprise that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Although most of her books are based on roughly the same idea of a tragic story of a girls life, the story of Ellie still filled me with emotions and surprised me as each page was turned. From the very start of the book, I immediately felt attached to the main character Ellie, a young, naïve girl brought up through the hardship of her families poverty and the 2nd world war. You see Ellie grow up into a mature and strong woman as she survives each of the tragedies thrown at her. I felt inspired by the determination Lesley Pearse gave her to use ...

Faith - Lesley Pearse

Premium Review Have a little faith (988 words)
by owensmum - written on 04/03/08 (Very useful, 88 readings)

Faith is the latest book I have read by one of my favourite authors Lesley Pearse. Lesley Pearse started writing novels fairly late in life, her first book was published at the age of 49. Her usual tales are of a badly done to young girl who grows up to either take revenge on those who have wronged her or to become a major success despite all the odds. There are varieties on the theme and settings to the stories and no matter how many of her books I ...

overloaded with books. As such I took it upon myself to select a couple of books to borrow to entertain me during the evening, one of which was "Faith" by Lesley Pearce. The Author Lesley Pearce released her first novel back in 1993 and since then has consistently had a further fifteen novels published with "Faith" being her latest offering in January 2008. She s a British born writer who currently lives in the Bristol region and her books tend to focus on one lead female character who is facing various adversities in her life. I ve read a couple of her novels in the past and although none of them have really stood out, they ve all been quite ...
