I am not an avid reader but every now and again a book comes along for some reason and captures my imagination - the Feathermen is one of those books and even now, some years after I read it for the first time, there are still passages which are emblazoned in my memory! You might well wonder why I, a woman of relatively peaceful intent, would want to read a book which is actually a fascinating tale of a series of revenge murders? Essentially it is what I would regard as a 'boys book' containing lots of details about how to kill someone and make it look like an accident - so what was it that drew me to it in the first place? "The Feather Men" by Ranulph Fiennes, the explorer, writer and ex SAS soldier is an interesting, true (although heavily disputed) tale of a series of deaths. According to Fiennes book, he was approached by a group of vigilantes known as "The Feather Men" to the establishment (government, MI5/6 etc) who were recruited to kill another group known as "The Clinic". Apparently, "The Clinic" were a group of assassins hired to kill a group of British soldiers, two regulars, and two SAS - all of whom had served in the Arabian Desert.
