The Author Tony Maddox was born in Birmingham. He trained and worked as a graphic designer and illustrator until he realised his ambition to write children's books and had his first book "Spike the Sparrow who Couldn't Sing" published in 1989. He then developed the character of "Fergus" the farmyard dog and has written at least 9 books involving this little adorable character. The Book. First published in 2005.
