I was bought this book for my birthday - my friend said 'you have to read this book, everyone is talking about it!'
Okay, so i read the back and think it seems interesting. Then my friend says its a little bit naughty, so i think even more interesting, then she said she thought it had been banned in some countries and i thought 'why?' which made it even more interesting....

And so i started reading and not to quote the characters too much but 'Holy Hell!'
The book really does draw you in. I was so facinated by this Christian Grey chap and right from the outset there is suggestion of something more to develop. It starts of quite naughty and it leads you to believe it can get really naughty but all the time i was wondering why it had been banned, where and what the reasons for banning it? I didn't actually think the sex scenes were terrible, just a bit kinky and quite frequent!

The story goes (in brief so i won't give much away)...
Complicated chap meets lady who intrigues him. He wants her, but not in the usually sense. So he hunts her and offers her a proposition.... He likes his women submissive and he likes to play rough. There are rules and limits and toys...
She in turn is intrigued by him. Why does he have to conduct a relationship in this way, why can they not have a normal relationship and what made him the way he is?
And so a battle of wills and wants commences between them and the story develops. The past comes out in fits and spurts, the past comes out to haunt them and the future seems possible then not, then possible again.

I was really quite taken with the characters and the story and i really wanted to learn more and find out what happened which lead me onto the next book and the next. But i have to admit that i got a bit eye-rolling at all the sex because it hinted at more and never delivered, just carried on in the same vein and really frequent to the point where i thought that it is just not possible that this woman does not have cystitis by now! I would recommend the book based on the story and the characters, interesting because it is a little kinky but suggests at more but doesn't deliver which is disappointing.
