The Defenders of the Dead. The book as part of the series: The first story-block was finished with the former book 'The Mark Of The Crown'. This Jedi-series part five starts the story about the quarrels on Melida/Daan and the appearing problems between the Jedi master and his apprentice. The background: Some time after having helped with that tricky vote on planet Gala, our well-known Jedi team is assigned a new mission. The temple received a request for help from a world called Melida/Daan which is devastated by an endless civil-war. One of the parties requests the help of a Jedi team and offers in return to help with the rescue of Jedimaster Tahl who ...

And how is prince Beju from the Jedi's originally assigned mission aim involved in all this?!? Some Notes: This is just another amazing Jedi-story from Jude Watson. It opens a quite detailed universe to the reader - if you can speak of details in such short stories. Reading this book everyone will get amazed and really live the story. What I don't like is the annoying way the Jedi 'friends' use to speak, because after some time of reading their always-present short term of denying everything can really annoy the reader. But nevertheless these stories are very nicely ...

The story: Finally landed on planet Bandomeer after a dangerous adventure both, Qui-Gonn Jinn and the young Jedi-Jinn-does-not-want-as-his-Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi has to go their own designated ways. Kenobi, becoming to old to be a Padawan of an older jedi-knight has to work for the agricorps. Jinn was called to the planet by officials, but already at the starport he has to find out that a dangerous enemy, his dark shadowed former apprentice Xanatos, ...

Sci-Fi & Fantasy - Watson, Jude

Straightforward space opera tale quirkily executed, interesting written format allows a large cast of characters to be defined purposefully, reasonably well-realised, if rather unconvincing, galactic civilisation. Lack of any real ideas at the heart of the bookover-reliance on violence to further the story (although, of course, this is a book about a war!)barely above average pulp science fiction.

Background informations, reading fun, price short storystory is a setup forcing some questions about it
