Advantages: Great story
Disadvantages: The end
Before I start this review, I should tell you I'm terrible at book reviews so don't slate me for it! This is the first John Grisham book I read and have yet to see the film. I did it for my Higher English RPR so am a bit tired of writing about it so this review is short and sweet. Mitch McDeere is a young lawyer who takes a job with a small, respected law firm in Memphis. Little does he know the law firm are a front for the mafia until an FBI agent approaches him. The firm start tracking him when they hear about this, but Mitch agrees a deal with the FBI to supply them info in return for loadsa money and safety. However, the firm find out about this and try to kill Mitch (boo, hiss). McDeere doesn't trust the FBI anymore and flees to the coast of Florida, where the Mafia and the FBI want him. He escapes to the Caymans with his wife and brother (hooray) and lives happily ever after. The firm are all arrested. Great book, I will try and do a better review soon.

- 10/07/01 Sorry for the low rating, but this really doesn't offer me an opinion on the book. Yes, you describe the plot, but you don't tell me whether or not you enjoyed the book, or what you particularly liked about it. How does it compare to similar books, by similar authors? How believable are the characters?
If you should update this opinion, let me know, and I'll rerate. |
